Definition: | totality of digits, and possibly other characters, at a point in the network that locate the called party, or digits that are necessary for forward routing
Note 1 to entry: The term "digits" in the definition is used with the meaning given in IEV 714-07-06 and in Note 3 to IEV 702-07-02.
Note 2 to entry: The digits comprising the address information sent by the calling party can be changed by translation or digit absorption as a connection is progressively set up through the network. The new and any remaining digits at each point constitute the address information at this point.
