| Proposal: | Revision of 482-05-12 to remove the word "safety" from the term:
- replace the term by “pressure relief vent”;
- move the entry from section 482-05 to section 482-02; the entry will thus be renumbered as 482-02-41
- revise the definition to delete the word "secondary" to unify its applicability and to replace "rupture" by "rupture or explosion".

| Justification and explanation: | The entry "safety vent" was reviewed by TC 35 in accordance with the recommendations provided in ISO/IEC Guide 51:2014, Clause 4.
The rationale for the proposed revisions are provided in the attachment "Proposed revision of 482-05-12 to remove the term safety.pdf".
The proposal has been agreed by TC 35, TC 21 and SC 21A.
