Synonym1: permitted DOD
Synonym2:
Synonym3:
Symbol:
Definition: maximum percentage of accumulation subsystem energy capacity that can be discharged from the full charge level, in a specified operating mode of an EES system at continuous operating conditions

Note 1 to entry: The permitted depth of discharge can be also defined at a specific power of discharge PX. In this case, the expression “permitted DOD at PX” is frequently used.

Note 2 to entry: Typically, the accumulation subsystem energy capacity is over-dimensioned to meet the EES system performance requirements expected for the entire service life, so only a portion of it contributes to the EES system energy capacity. The permitted depth of discharge is one of the two boundaries of this portion. The permitted depth of discharge can be related to the actual energy capacity, the nominal energy capacity or the rated energy capacity.

Note 3 to entry: This note applies to the French language only.
