NOTE 1 – Within a sequential multiple-outage occurrence, a “primary” outage occurrence happens as a direct consequence of the initiating incident and is not dependent on any other outage occurrence, whereas a “secondary” outage occurrence is the result of one or more earlier outage occurrences within that sequence.
NOTE 2 – An example is the tripping of a circuit due to overload after the failure of a parallel circuit of the same line.
